AWB to host 2013 Legislative & Lobby Day

Hundreds of representatives from small, medium and large businesses to gather in Olympia

OLYMPIA — With a new governor in office and a new balance of power in the state Senate, Washington employers will gather next week for the Association of Washington Business’ annual Legislative & Lobby Days to discuss the state’s budget challenges and the ways in which government affects their businesses.

Wednesday’s Legislative Day agenda includes panel discussions with lawmakers on a variety of issues, including transportation, fiscal policy, and health care. At noon, Gov. Jay Inslee (D) will speak to attendees and help present AWB’s Better Workplace Awards for exceptional workplace safety, job training and benefit programs.

On Thursday, AWB members will visit the legislative campus during Lobby Day and meet with their district lawmakers to discuss key policy issues.
