AWB to Host 2018 Legislative Day and Hill Climb

Employers, employees and lawmakers to discuss climate policy, workforce, economy and keeping Washington competitive

OLYMPIA — Washington employers, lawmakers and economists will discuss manufacturing, climate policy and keeping Washington competitive at the Association of Washington Business 2018 Legislative Day and Hill Climb.

AWB’s one-day conference is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 16, at Hotel RL Olympia. The event features panel discussions on a host of issues facing employers, including climate policy, education funding, workforce development and more.

Economists from eastern and western Washington will provide the latest updates on the state’s economy at the lunchtime keynote address. The presentation by Anneliese Vance-Sherman of the state Employment Security Department and Patrick Jones of Eastern Washington University is open to the media and is scheduled for 12:50 p.m.

AWB members will visit the Capitol later in the day and meet directly with legislators to share ideas on policies that support economic development across Washington.
