AWB’s Spring Meeting kicks off Wednesday and is shaping up to be one of the best yet. This year’s event at the Davenport Grand Hotel in Spokane features leading business and political leaders from the local, state and national level.

The lineup includes state legislative leaders including state Sens. Andy Billig, D-Spokane, and John Braun, R-Centralia, and state Reps. Larry Springer, D-Kirkland, and Jacquelin Maycumber, R-Republic.

The state lawmakers will address taxes, the budget and more in a debrief on the recently-concluded legislative session.

CEOs from major Washington companies will take part in a panel discussion, including Numerica Credit Union’s Carla Cicero, Wagstaff’s Kevin Person and Pearson Packaging’s Michael Senske.

Wednesday closes with arguably the biggest keynote speaker to date: U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley (2017-19.)

The annual Spring Meeting is one of AWB’s signature events and explores many of the biggest challenges, and solutions, faced by Washington’s employer community.

Economist Bill Conerly opens the event with a luncheon keynote address that focuses on the likelihood of a recession; opportunities in the nation’s competitive labor market; and an overview of what employers can expect now through 2020.

Other panels will include updates from state agency directors, the CEO discussion and a look at the future of transportation with leaders from PACCAR, Uber, the state Department of Transportation and the state Transportation Commission. The full agenda is available here.

Registrations are coming in at record pace, but there’s room for more. Click here to register or call Jacob Sodeman at 360.943.1600 for more information.
