Employee culture in the spotlight March 6 at Workforce Summit

Workforce development is one of the top issues for employers, human resource professionals and business leaders today.

How can employers attract the best talent, keep them and help them thrive in today's competitive market?

AWB's third-annual Workforce Summit March 6 at the Bellevue Hilton will take a closer look at those questions and more by looking at workplace culture.

Come for solutions.

The half-day event will offer practical solutions to help businesses keep an outstanding workforce and look at the needs and concerns of today's employees, from financial stress and mental health to causes of absenteeism, such as lack of access to child care, and presenteeism -- working while sick.

Come share ideas.

Employers and staff recruiters will interact in table discussions on the topics and issues impacting their ability to attract and retain staff, and share some of the innovative solutions they've found when it comes to high employee engagement in the workplace with fellow attendees.

Come for the insights.

Tyler Bell, CEO of Bellmont Cabinet Company, will offer a keynote address, giving attendees insights into the family-run business that came back to full speed after a rough patch during the Great Recession and how they find the right people to fill their positions by offering a culture of support and growth.

Come with questions.

This year's summit will again feature the popular "ask a lawyer" panel. This is participants' opportunity to ask top workplace law experts, Shannon Lawless and Britenae Pierce of Ryan, Swanson & Cleveland, PLLC, questions about everything from social media policies to new laws that impact employers and employees.

Event registration is online. Questions about the event can be directed to Kelli Schueler at 360.943.1600. Watch the short video to see what you can expect from this year's Workforce Summit.
