Spring Meeting less than two weeks away, features pollster Frank Luntz

On May 8-9, AWB will host their annual Spring Meeting at The Historic Davenport Hotel in Spokane, Washington. 

With less than two weeks to go, it’s time to reserve a seat at AWB’s 2017 Spring Meeting.

The two-day event will take place at The Historic Davenport Hotel in Spokane, May 8-9, and will cover the successes, challenges and changes facing employers throughout the state.

Come learn from industry experts and business professionals about some of the issues that could impact business in 2017 and gain new business perspectives on how to remain relevant in today’s globally-competitive marketplace.

Joe Sprague, senior vice president of external affairs for Alaska Airlines, will kick things off with a lunch keynote address where he will discuss the company’s December 2016 merger with California-based Virgin America.

Heather Rosentrater, vice president, energy delivery, for Avista Corporation, will discuss climate policy. Rosentrater, who previously led Avista’s grid innovation and smart grid and smart city efforts, will discuss how the Spokane-based energy utility continues to provide safe energy services to their customers through innovative and sustainable practices.

Next up, will be a medical education panel. Dr. Christine Johnson, chancellor of the Community Colleges of Spokane, will moderate a discussion with Dr. Suzanne M. Allen, vice dean for academic, rural and regional affairs for the University of Washington School of Medicine and Dr. John Tomkowiak, founding dean of the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine. will discuss the expansion of medical education in Washington colleges.

Grace-Marie Turner, president of the Galen Institute, will finalize the panels with an update on healthcare policy and changes.

Finally, Frank Luntz, crisis communications exert and CEO of Luntz Global, will deliver the dinner keynote address. Luntz is one of the most publicized communications professionals in the nation and has been named to Time Magazine’s list of “50 of America’s most promising leaders aged 40 and under.” Attendees will get the chance to listen to Luntz doing what he’s most known for, breaking down American politics.
