Mary Catherine McAleer is Association of Washington Business’ director of government affairs on chemistries, energy, climate and water quality policy.
Before coming to AWB, McAleer served as a policy analyst in the state House of Representatives, where she focused on environmental, agricultural and natural resources policy development. She has also worked in communications for Washington Policy Center, a nonpartisan think tank.
McAleer studied biology and economics at Gonzaga University, focusing on social and chemical influences on mammalian and amphibian endocrinology. She also completed coursework in Middle East Global Politics at the London School of Economics. McAleer is a board member of the Thurston County Shellfish Protection District.
