Advocating for Job Creators

For more than 100 years, AWB has advocated on behalf of a strong and healthy business climate for Washington state.

Our Government Affairs team represents nearly 7,000 member businesses each year on policy issues that directly impact job creation, business expansion and the state's overall economic climate. From workers' compensation and  transportation to health care, education and taxes, AWB is there to tell the story of the private employer in the halls of Olympia.

The 2020 Legislative Session

The 2020 session of the Washington Legislature began on Jan. 13 and is scheduled to last 60 consecutive days. Washington legislative sessions alternate in length, with longer, 105-day sessions in odd-numbered years used for budget writing and shorter, 60-day sessions in even-numbered years used for supplemental budgets.

AWB continually seeks the input of members from around the state on key issues affecting employers. If you have questions about a particular policy issue, please contact Liv Johnson at 800.521.9325 to be directed to the correct policy director. Or, visit our Policy Team page.
