Accident Prevention & Accident Investigation Plans Webinar

All employers in Washington State are required to create a written Accident Prevention Plan or Program (APP). Tim O’Connell and Karin Jones, Partners with Stoel Rives LLP will outline the requirements for compliance with the Department of Labor & Industries’ requirements, and how they fit into an overall workplace safety program. This webinar will include how to be in compliance with regulations, how to write a comprehensive APP, how to conduct and prepare for an accident investigation and provide tools/templates that can be adapted to fit your company’s specific needs. Implementing a comprehensive APP helps ensure increased safety awareness and may lower the number of accidents and/or illnesses.

|Tim O'Connell is a partner of the firm in the labor and employment and telecommunications law sectors. His practice includes collective bargaining, unfair labor practice and representation proceedings before the NLRB and public sector agencies, labor arbitrations, equal employment and discrimination cases before administrative agencies and courts, wrongful discharge litigation, wage and hour counseling and litigation, and general personnel management. He has also been actively involved in the rule-making process, both drafting and negotiating new rules and leading litigation challenging agency action.

Karin Jones, Partner, Stoel Rives LLP
|Karin Jones is a partner in the Labor and Employment group, providing practical advice to employers regarding a wide variety of workplace and personnel issues and helping employers minimize the risk and impact of workplace problems. When litigation arises, Karin represents employers before administrative agencies and the state and federal courts. Karin has experience representing employers in disputes involving discrimination, harassment, reasonable accommodation, employee family and medical leave, wage and hour claims, workplace safety (WISHA/OSHA), and whistle-blower complaints, among other workplace issues. In addition to her trial court practice, Karin draws on her prior experience as a law clerk at the Ninth Circuit to successfully represent clients in appellate litigation. Karin also provides services such as employee and supervisor training, employee handbook reviews, and workplace audits to help ensure employers’ compliance with the many employment laws applicable to their organizations.
