  •  NEW  The state is pausing any further reopening indefinitely, due to a spike in COVID-19 cases all over the state. Gathering sizes have been limited as of July 20, and further business restrictions were announced July 23. Read more details about the phases of reopening Washington here.
  •  NEW  StaySafeWA - This "Stay Safe. Stay Open. Wear a Mask" campaign from a coalition of associations across the state provides downloadable videos, poster, social media content and radio spots encouraging all in Washington to wear a mask to safeguard our businesses, employees and communities.

  • Manufacturers needed
    • If you are a company willing to shift gears and re-purpose manufacturing operations to help with the COVID-19 crisis, fill out this form.
    • National Association of Manufacturers (NAM)
      • Has created a COVID-19 portal on its Manufacturers Marketplace. This is a free site for manufacturers to register what they can create, and a place to find suppliers.
      • Creators Respond - Resources for manufacturers desiring to take action
  • FEMA's How To Help page and the contact information for private-sector liaisons.
  • To sell medical supplies or equipment to the federal government, submit information here.
    • This requires registration with the System for Award Management (SAM). Registration information can be found at www.sam.gov.
  • If you have medical supplies or equipment to donate, provide details here.
  • If your company is willing to produce a product related to the COVID response, email nbeoc@max.gov.
  • If you are a hospital or healthcare provider in need of medical supplies, contact your state, local, tribal or territory department of public health and/or emergency management agency.
  • If you are willing to do business with FEMA to support the COVID-19 response with non-medical goods and/or services, submit an inquiry to DHSIndustryLiaison@hq.dhs.gov.

Loans
  • Best Accounting Software has published a guide for all the business support available at the State level.
  • A comprehensive summary of loan facilities from the Center for Capital Markets Competitiveness - Small, Medium and Large Business Financing under the CARES Act
  •  APPLY NOW  CARES Act loans
    • The Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL), is offered through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). An advance up to $10k is available within 3 days and will not have to be repaid. There is an interest rate of 3.75% for small businesses. Nonprofits are eligible for a 2.75% interest rate.     • The Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), a provision of the CARES Act that authorized loans with forgiveness and deferral possibilities, expired briefly June 30 but was extended. It resumed taking applications on July 6. This loan is available for small businesses, sole proprietors, self-employed and independent contractors. Here is the borrower application form (updated June 24). Use this searchable map to find an SBA lender in your area.

      • PPP Loan forgiveness information
        • The PPP Flexibility Act was passed 6.5.20 to include the following rule changes:
          • The time period to use your funds has been extended from 8 weeks to 24 weeks.
          • Payroll costs must account for 60% of the loan, down from 75%.
          • The covered period has been extended from June 30 to Dec. 31.
          • You won't have to make employer payroll tax payments through the end of 2020.
          • You won't lose eligibility if you can show that some employees declined to return to their jobs.
          • Payback period has been extended from 2 years to 5+ years for those not seeking (or not eligible for) loan forgiveness.
        • Here is the form for PPP Loan Forgiveness application (updated June 16) which includes the policy rule on how forgiveness will be calculated. A new PPP Loan Forgiveness EZ application is now available for those who qualify with the following conditions:
          1. Are self-employed and have no employees; OR
          2. Did not reduce the salaries or wages of their employees by more than 25%, and did not reduce the number or hours of their employees; OR
          3. Experienced reductions in business activity as a result of health directives related to COVID-19, and did not reduce the salaries or wages of their employees by more than 25%.
