Spreading Holiday Cheer
This is the 29th year AWB has facilitated the Washington Holiday Kids' Tree Project, which raises funds from employers and individuals to give to rural fire districts across Washington so they have the means to help those in need in their communities.
The tree-lighting ceremony on Friday, Dec. 1, was led by Secretary of State Kim Wyman. As always, the festivities were free, family-friendly, and open to the public in the Capitol rotunda.
The decorations on this year's tree are themed after native Washington animals. The plush stuffed animals and toys will be removed after the holidays and given to patients at children's hospitals.
