2013 Manufacturing Tour
The AWB Insitiute held its inaugural Manufacturing Showcase last week in Moses Lake.
The tours offered a firsthand look at the manufacturing process and gave attendees a chance to learn about workforce and skill readiness issues. Employers were able to share their experiences and concerns about regulatory issues and economic opportunities.
Tour attendees saw a 787 Dreamliner being tested at the Moses Lake airport and had the chance to see the very first unit of the ZX180 come off the assembly line at Genie. This is the largest lift manufactured by this major manufacturer. Genie is Moses Lake’s largest employer with nearly 1,200 employees, 390 suppliers (52% in Washington) and 30 of them local.
