Manufacturers in Washington are among the most innovative and productive in the world, leading to higher wages and living standards. With the right policies and investments Washington manufacturers can continue to be global leaders and provide thousands of new jobs, adding strength to the economic recovery in Washington and the nation.

Participants will hear the results of the 2014 McGladrey Monitor, and receive an update on the Governor’s Red Tape Index Initiative. At lunch Kellie Johnson, president and CEO of ACE Clearwater Enterprises, a Torrance, California-based family aerospace company, will inspire today’s current manufacturing leaders to help propel the next generation of leadership and talent.

What Manufacturing Means to Me

Kellie Johnson is president and CEO of ACE Clearwater Enterprises in Torrance, California. She graduated from USC in 1982 with a B.A. in international relations and joined the family business in 1984, working in all areas, from purchasing to production control. Ms. Johnson took over operations in 1985 and was promoted to president in 1989. Ms. Johnson is on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Manufacturers, chair of the NAM’s Small and Medium Manufacturers Group and a member of the Board of Trustees for the Manufacturing Institute. Additionally, Ms. Johnson is the chair of the California Manufacturing and Technology Association.
