U.S. Chamber and JBLM to host their biggest-ever veterans job fair

The Service Member for Life Transition Summit, to be held over three days this week at Joint Base Lewis McChord, will be the largest-ever veterans employment fair ever held as part of JBLM's longstanding partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. This massive "Hiring Our Heroes" event will feature workshops to prepare veterans for job interviews outside the military and include forums for military and political leaders.

It's an attempt to find a better pathway to civilian work for the 8,000 to 9,000 military service members expected to separate from the armed forces out of JBLM each years as the military draws down its ranks.

The summit runs from Tuesday to Thursday. The News Tribune has details, or visit the Washington Military Alliance for a full schedule.
