Top L&I leaders to meet with AWB Workers' Compensation Committee about 2015 rates

Joel Sacks, the director of the Washington Department of Labor & Industries, and several of his top deputies will meet with the Workers' Compensation Committee at 10 a.m. on Friday to discuss workers' comp rate changes. The meeting will be held at AWB. Sacks, along with Vickie Kennedy, assistant director for insurance services, and Bill Vasek, chief actuary, will discuss the proposed 2015 workers' compensation rate and answer questions about the rate increase.

As detailed here last month, L&I has proposed an average workers' compensation rate increase of 1.8 percent next year, or about 1 cent per hour worked. Rate changes vary; some job classifications are seeing small decreases or much bigger increases.

Contact Bob Battles for details or Connie Grande for call-in information.
