Washington's cell phone taxes and fees are the highest in the nation

Washington narrowly edged out Nebraska as home to the highest taxes and fees on cell phone bills, according to a new national survey. On average, Washington cell phone bills are 24.42 percent taxes and fees. That's just above Nebraska's 24.31 percent, and well above the national average of 17 percent in combined federal, state and local taxes and fees. The Puget Sound Business Journal reported on the story. Read the full report from the Tax Foundation here.
