2017 Year in Review

AWB Institute's Manufacturing Excellence awards recognizes four innovative employers

This year’s Manufacturing Excellence awards program recognized a diverse group of manufacturers – from a craft distiller to a cabinet maker – for outstanding contributions to innovation, environmental excellence and operational improvements that lead to healthy, rewarding and successful workplaces. The awards were handed out, in partnership with The Puget Sound Business Journal, at the AWB Institute’s annual Manufacturing Summit in Seattle Oct. 5.

The four Manufacturing Excellence award winners are:

  • Manufacturer of the Year: Heritage Distilling Co., Gig Harbor - Opened in 2012, this family-owned and operated company is the largest independently owned craft distillery in Washington and the most awarded craft distillery in North America for four years running. Watch the video.
  • Innovation: HPF Manufacturing, Snohomish, has been designing, developing and manufacturing heavy equipment attachments for more than 30 years. Watch the video.
  • Operational Excellence: Canyon Creek Cabinet Company in Monroe has been making affordable custom-framed and frameless style kitchen, bath and closet cabinetry in Washington since 1981. Watch the video.
  • Green Manufacturing: Waste Connections of Washington, founded in Vancouver 20 years ago, has become one of the largest recycling and solid waste companies in the state. Watch the video.
