First-ever AWB Institute Workforce Summit covers emerging HR issues

The workforce is changing as boomers retire, Gen Xers are solidifying their leadership roles and millennials and Gen Zs are entering the workforce at historic levels and beginning to take on greater responsibilities in the workplace. This shift was the catalyst for AWB Institute’s first-ever Workforce Summit in Seattle in March.

The day kicked off with futurist and economist Rebecca Ryan, who offered advice on how to prepare for workplace changes and workforce needs 10, 20 and even 30 years ahead.

Panels throughout the afternoon covered the future landscape of Washington’s workplace, how technology is impacting workplace policies and changing when and how younger generations do their job. The final panel covered the generational divide within the workplace as millennials and Gen Z now make up the largest percentage of today’s workforce. The summit ended with a networking reception.
