Third annual AWB D.C. Fly-in focuses on trade, economy

Nearly every member of Washington's congressional delegation met with AWB's group of employers during the third-annual D.C. fly-in earlier this month. The two dozen AWB members spent three days in high-level meetings with lawmakers, industry groups and other leaders during the third-annual trip from one Washington to the other.

From trade policy to the environment, the meetings helped ensure that Washington employers were heard by national policy makers.

The group met personally with Sen. Maria Cantwell and a representative from Sen. Patty Murray’s staff, as well as all the members of the state's House delegation.

"In the last 24 years, there have been just three Decembers with a presidential transition underway. And we got to see one of them," AWB President Kris Johnson said after returning home. "It was a productive and enjoyable trip during a remarkable period in our nation’s history."
