Looking to 2016: Legislative Day & Hill Climb, Spring Meeting with Gubernatorial Debate, and Policy Summit

Registration is now open
for the 2016 AWB Legislative Day & Hill Climb on Jan. 19. Gov. Jay Inslee will start the day with a breakfast welcome address and Q&A at 7:30 a.m. He’ll be followed by the AWB board meeting. At 9:30 the panel topic will be climate change and the environment. At 10:30 we’ll talk minimum wage and predictive scheduling with legislative leaders. At 11:15 the topic is education funding.

The lunchtime keynote will address Washington’s competitiveness and a look at the two distinct regions of the state. Agency directors Maia Bellon of the Department of Ecology and Joel Sacks of the Department of Labor & Industries will talk with AWB members at 1:30. Gary Chandler, AWB vice president, government affairs, will wrap up the afternoon’s discussions at 2:15 – and then the Hill Climb begins.

The annual AWB Spring Meeting June 14-16 will once again feature the gubernatorial debate, a staple of the four-year election cycle.

The 2016 AWB Policy Summit will be held Sept. 13-15 at the Suncadia Resort in Cle Elum.

These events were either sold out or near capacity this year, so reserve your spot early. For event information and to learn when registration will open for Spring Meeting and Policy Summit, contact Kelli Schueler at 360.943.1600.
