The Manufacturing Symposium Luncheon is your opportunity to share ideas with your peers while hearing firsthand accounts of Genie’s impressive growth.

Northwest Industrial Index Update
Metals are hot: Washington state metal trades are growing faster than computer services. That’s just one of the insights you’ll hear as Dave Gering, Executive Director of the Manufacturing Industry Council (MIC), updates you on the dramatic growth in the metal industries.
Keynote Address: “The Genie Lift”
Genie Industries rose from humble local origins to become a world leader in manufacturing lift trucks and other lift equipment. How did they do it? Come to the luncheon to find out. Paul Caldarazzo, Vice President of Operations at Genie Industries, provides a “been there, done that” presentation about the ways Genie is expanding its reach in the global economy. He’ll tell the story of Genie’s growth through internal improvements, an effective supply chain program, and a strong export market. Genie Industries was named 2008 Washington State Large Manufacturer of the Year by the Association of Washington Businesses.
Afternoon Session: The Boom Next Door
1:45 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Alberta, Canada is the target for $175 billion in new projects to develop the region’s vast oil reserves. Billions more are being invested in related residential and commercial growth. This is creating enormous opportunities for Washington state manufacturing companies. Attend the afternoon session for an informative look at this potential export market.
Added bonus: Don’t just learn about the boom next door, take action. During this session, you can have a one-on-one meeting with Canadian companies that specialize in helping American companies find Canadian partners and export opportunities. Brian Pleet of Strategic and Blaire Lancaster of Rainmaker will help you evaluate if this growing export market might be an effective avenue of growth for your company.
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how to expand your business, prepare for the future, and tap into a growing export market.
