The Association of Washington Business and Sedgwick CMS have partnered together to offer courses for safety and non-safety professionals who wish to increase their safety knowledge and effectiveness in developing and administering safety programs within their company.
We have identified that the two most common causes of injuries are overexertion resulting in back & shoulder injuries and slips, trips, & falls either from tripping over uneven surfaces, slipping on floors, or falling from heights. We are offering free educational webinars to all AWB members on these topics to help you identify and control these risks in your workplace.
Together we can reduce your injuries and the associated costs while increasing productivity!
Course Descriptions
Overexertion Injury Prevention
Considered ‘heavy hitters’ as these types of injuries tend to be very costly in terms of dollars and lost time. We will review cause of these injuries (generally back & shoulder), risk factors, and strategies to reduce frequency & severity while discovery means to increase productivity.
Slip, Trip, & Fall Injury Prevention
Common cause of injury associated with all businesses. Employees are constantly exposed to hazards from torn & lifted carpet to falls on stairs, any uneven surface, spilled liquids, loading docks, & the ladder. We will look at the risk factors and discuss strategies to identify & control these risks.
