OLYMPIA - The Association of Washington Business is pleased to announce that it has reached a record setting 6,000 members with the addition of Tukwila-based Cutting Specialists, Inc.
“This feat represents our continued commitment to representing the business community, regardless of size, location or make up of the company,” AWB President Don Brunell said. “We strive to serve all of the business community in Washington state the best way we can, having more than 6,000 members is a testament to our commitment.”
AWB’s commitment to a bipartisan, proactive approach to growing and protecting the business community was a significant factor in reaching 6,000 members. “Businesses in Washington have realized the importance of joining together to ensure sustained economic activity and growth,” Brunell said. “That coincides with the fact that legislators respect our organization as a key voice of Washington’s business community.”
Cutting Specialists is a small, family-owned business that employs 19 people. It specializes in cutting metals and other products associated with the aerospace industry. “Cutting Specialists is a company that represents the core business that makes up Washington’s business community—small, family owned business that employs fewer than 20 people,” Brunell said. “It is companies like Cutting Specialist that need representation at all levels of state government.”
AWB also recently received the President’s Award from the Association of State Chamber Professionals, recognizing it as the nation’s top state chamber of commerce for 2005.
