OLYMPIA—The Association of Washington Business, Washington State Department of Ecology and the Northwest Environmental Business Council will host the 2006 Northwest Environmental Summit held on October 18 and 19, 2006 at the Greater Tacoma Convention and Trade Center.
The Northwest Environmental Summit is part of AWB’s ongoing effort to keep employers informed of the numerous environmental laws, regulations and policy issues. “With the complexities surrounding Washington’s environmental laws, events such as this are in high demand,” AWB President Don Brunell said. Formerly known as the Environmental Conference of Washington, this annual event has offered cost-effective, practical and timely information on environmental issues for more than 13 years. “Attendees should expect informative sessions, great networking opportunities and a fantastic tradeshow,” Brunell said.
This year’s event will include more than 15 informative sessions designed to educate managers and owners on upcoming and recently passed environmental legislation. Capping off this year’s Summit, a panel of professionals will hold a debate on the pros and cons of Initiative 933. The event also includes a tradeshow highlighting companies that offer advanced environmental protection technologies and services.
The Summit will also provide an opportunity to hear from the event’s keynote speaker, Jim Whittaker, former CEO of Recreational Equipment Inc. (REI), the first American to climb Mt. Everest. For more information regarding the 2006 Northwest Environmental Summit, or to register, please visit www.envwashington.org.
A full, two-day registration costs $300 per person and a full one-day registration costs $195. All prices include selected meals. Discounts for multiple registrations are available.
