Kathleen Collins Named Association of Washington Business Top Lobbyist |

OLYMPIA – Kathleen Collins is the winner of this year’s Ron Gjerde Award from the Association of Washington Business (AWB). The Gjerde Award honors the year’s top business lobbyist. Collins received the award on September 27 at AWB’s annual Policy Summit at Semi-ah-moo in Blaine.
Collins is a contract lobbyist in Olympia representing a variety of business clients. Before becoming a contract lobbyist, Collins was the director of environmental programs for the Association of Washington Cities.
Collins was chosen by her peers for the Association’s top lobbying award which is named in honor of Weyerhaeuser lobbyist Ron Gjerde who died seven years ago. Gjerde was a long-time member of AWB’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee.
“Throughout her career, Kathleen has been a tireless advocate for AWB and the business community,” says AWB President Don Brunell. “She is well respected by her peers and has been an important part of shaping the business community’s human resources, environment and energy policies.. Her dedication and contributions truly epitomize the qualities embodied in the Gjerde Award.”
