L&I Selects New WISHA Assistant Director
Steve Cant has been selected as the new assistant director of L&I's WISHA Services Division. Steve has been with L&I's workplace safety division since 1975 and has served as the agency’s acting director for the past eight months. AWB congratulates Steve on his new appointment. Umbdenstock to Head American Hospital Association 
Providence Health & Services CEO Rich Umbdenstock has been named as the new president of the American Hospital Association.  Rich succeeds Dick Davidson who will retire in 2007. AWB President Don Brunell and Umbdenstock are members of the Health Forum which is a group of health industry CEOs working to reduce health care costs and deliver better service. 

AWB to Honor Jeannette Hayner at Annual Spring Meeting in Spokane
Former Senate GOP Leader Jeannette Hayner has been named the 2006 C. David Gordon Award winner for outstanding public service and contributions to the Washington. Taking Names for Workers' Comp Employer Reporting Pilot Program
L&I is developing criteria to implement SHB 2537, which establishes a pilot program for reporting of workers' comp claims through employers, in contrast to the current system of reporting claims only through physicians. Workers' Comp Employer Coalition to Meet April 13
AWB’s Workers' Compensation Committee, a coalition with numerous employer representatives, will meet at AWB, April 13, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The agenda will focus heavily on organizing and responding to L&I’s summer stakeholder process for 2007 legislative reform proposals.
